About Ballard Everett

Ballard Everett is a public affairs and political consultant based in Raleigh, NC. Since earning his B.A. in Political Science from North Carolina State University in 1969, Ballard has participated in more than 200 political campaigns, worked with numerous trade associations and conducted many public affairs campaigns for corporate and association clients. 

Ballard began his career in the successful 1972 campaign of Governor Jim Holshouser, the first Republican Governor elected in North Carolina in the 20th Century. Ballard has participated in several Presidential, Senatorial, Judicial, Congressional and State and Local campaigns. In addition to his political experience, Ballard has worked for three major national trade associations.

Ballard specializes in "grasstops" projects and has conducted more than 50 in North Carolina. These projects have covered issues such as health care, telecommunications, Superfund, insurance, trade agreements, agriculture, defense and sports. Grasstops efforts are designed to gain support for legislative and regulatory issues at both the local, state and federal levels.

Ballard continues to consult with candidates all across North Carolina ranging from local to statewide candidates. He has served as the lead consultant on the largest and most successful local school bond referendums in North Carolina. He was one of the consultants on North Carolina's successful $3.1 billion University and Community College referendum in 2000. In 2006 Ballard served as the lead consultant on the successful $976 million Wake County school bond referendum.

Ballard's unique talent is bringing the right resources together to get the job done for his clients. He works closely with some of the most talented and well respected media, direct mail and polling consultants in the United States. Ballard is proud of the fact that he can bring the right people with the best fit for each of his clients.

Ballard can be heard weekly on "People In Politics" along with Democrat consultant Brad Crone and stategovernmentradio.com's Scott Carr. "People in Politics" can be heard every Friday morning on 570 WDOx-AM and all day on stategovernmentradio.com. The show is re-aired Sunday's at 5pm on WPTF in Raleigh and WSJS in Winston-Salem. Ballard is a frequent guest on NBC17's public affairs program, At Issue, with Kim Genardo.
